Casinomeister's Verdict

Avoid this casino at all costs. If you happen to win a progressive jackpot, you will be screwed.

Please note: SportingBet Casino and all UKGC Casinos no longer accept credit cards.

Once an accredited casino – but barely. They always had an issue with maintaining a forum presence, or answering any questions when it came to player complaints. It was only a couple of years ago that they had a new manager who actually had his act together, and Sportingbet remained in the Accredited section.

But he’s gone now, there is no representative in the forum, and they have added rogue terms to their payouts of progressive jackpots:

10.3

You agree that the maximum amount that You may withdraw is twenty thousand US Dollars ($20,000) (or the equivalent amount in EUR or GBP currency) every 30 business days. All amounts larger than twenty thousand US Dollars ($20,000) will be paid every 30 business days until the full withdrawal amount is reached. This condition also applies to winnings of progressive jackpots.

This is such a load of crap – it’s unethical because it is not their money to begin with – and it is probably illegal. If any player wins a progressive jackpot – even a small one like Luck o’ the Jackpot (which is at $2.5 million right now) – it’s going to take over ten years to pay this out. The only reason a casino puts payout limits on progressive jackpots is to make sure the player plays the money back – money that never belonged to the casino in the first place (the winnings are pooled funds – not exclusively the casino’s). There is more information about that here: Playtech Progressive Jackpot Scandal.

Operators who try to pull this scam ought to be drummed out of the business. It’s abhorrent – and for a licensing jurisdiction that condones and justifies these terms should be lambasted: UKGC and Gibraltar. Just goes to show they either do not care about the player, or they are too preoccupied to do their jobs properly and ensure players won’t be scammed by their casino properties. Take your pick.

And since this is a publicly traded company, someone ought to ensure that this Rogue listing is included in their quarterly report.

But we all know the answer to this one: it’s all about the money – f*&% the player.
