Jenny Williams role of chief executive of the gaming board comes to an end
The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) will begin head hunting a new chief executive of the gaming board as Jenny Williams' term comes to an end in September 2015.
Williams has been instrumental in the planning and implementation of the controversial UK Gambling (Licencing and Advertising) Bill that comes into effect on October 1, 2014 and will be "a hard act to follow", Chairman Phillip Graf said in a statement.
The UKGC will begin the search for Williams' successor with a view to bringing him/her on board early 2015 to allow for a complete handover and a smooth transition. Williams will be integral in the selection of her successor, Graf said.
Williams has spent a decade in the role of chief executive of the gaming board. She was previously a Director General at the Lord Chancellor's Department (now the Department for Justice).
