Greentube the Novomatic interactive subsidiary, are preparing to enter the soon to be regulated German iGaming market, with their online gaming site StarGames all set to apply for a German nationwide licence. The awarding of a licence will allow StarGames to operate throughout Germany once legislation comes into being in July 2021, allowing gaming sites to operate in the country.

Over the past few weeks, operators and casino software studios lining up to apply for a German licence, have been getting their own collective houses in order. Ensuring that they conform and adhere to the rules and regulations that will form part of accepting of a licence from the German regulator, when the go live switch is flipped next summer.

StarGames which is directly owned by Greentube Malta, already has experience of operating in Germany through its licensed operations in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.

Commenting on the developments, Trevor De Giorgio, Managing Director of Greentube Malta said: “We’re very excited about being able to fully operate in the regulated German market, and for players across the whole of Germany to be able to enjoy the fresh StarGames.”

“We proved before in Schleswig-Holstein that we have the games, the technology, the knowhow and the security to offer players transparent, safe, top-quality gaming. While the new regulations certainly bring with them new challenges, we’re looking forward to once again delivering the best product and entertainment possible.”
