Fertitta Finds Online Gambling Expensive So Far

Station and Golden Nugget land operator hardly optimistic

The Sun Herald newspaper reports that Tilman Fertitta from the family that operates Station Casinos and The Golden Nugget, is less than optimistic on the immediate commercial promise of online gambling.

Addressing the Southern Gaming Summit Wednesday, Fertitta revealed that his company is losing $6 million to $7 million a year on Internet gambling in the nascent New Jersey market.

Though he doesn't see online gambling taking off, he said, "I don't want to miss something just in case."
