London analyst discusses prospects for Ladbrokes, Coral, William Hill, Betfair and Playtech
Discussing the UK gambling industry in a Proactive Investors interview Friday, Market analyst Stephen Schutte said a lack of growth is the main driving force behind the wave of consolidation deals among UK bookmakers, and that smart bookmakers ensure they have digital as well as land-based operations.
In a wide ranging discussion Schutte talked about the impact of the Ladbrokes-Coral merger (see previous InfoPowa reports) and whether it would prompt William Hill to make further acquisitions. He also discussed the short sellers and Betfair, and Playtech's prospects.
