Harris appointed CEO at Favourit

The Aussie social sports betting group Favourit, currently chasing a listing on the Australian stock exchange, has appointed Sportingbet veteran Gary Harris as chief executive officer.
Previously the IT director and a board member of the Sportingbet Australia Group between 2004 and 2013, Harris was responsible for technology development and operations, growing online turnover from A$10 million to over A$2.4 billion.
Sportingbet Australia was acquired by the William Hill gambling group for A$600 million in early 2013 (see previous InfoPowa reports).
Harris said in a media release that he was pleased to join Favourit as the company proves up its highly differentiated social user experience.
The social sport betting company launched international operations in November 2014 with a sally into the UK market and has wider ambitions, with co-founder and former CEO Toby Simmons taking responsibility as commercial director for the international expansion strategy.
