Betfair Exchange Down Most Of Saturday

Players left in the dark on reasons for unserviceability

The online sports betting forums lit up Saturday as hundreds of players around the globe started posting that they were unable to place bets through the Betfair exchange.
Angry players decried the site's lack of consistency, pointing to previous incidents where Betfair had failed to provide a service over peak Saturday betting periods.
Some posters claimed the company's betting service was inoperable for much of the day from as early as 4.30 am in Saturday's failure.
When InfoPowa went to press it was still unclear what caused the failure.
Throughout the day Betfair Support issued a barrage of tweets expressing regret for the outage and assuring punters that its engineers were working on the problem.
At one point the company tweeted: "The Exchange is back up and running. Some markets remain suspended and these are still being investigated."
On Friday the company tweeted: "Our Live Video provider Perform are experiencing issues with a number of feeds on our Live Video. We're working with them to fix the issues."
