Heavy fines for those who play with operators unlicensed in Romania

The Romanian National Office for Gambling, already in the headlines over its recent and mystifying blacklisting of Bwin and Bet365 (see previous InfoPowa reports) has warned local players of steep fines if they patronise websites operated by entities without Romanian licensing and on the national blacklist.
The warning was posted via a press release to local publications which threatened fines of up to $2,500.
The regulator has also warned that ISP and financial transaction blocking are in its armoury in the fight against unlicensed operators.
The Romanian black list presently features 147 online sportsbooks and casinos.
