Forty arrested in illegal online gambling raid

Malaysian authorities kept the pressure on illegal online gambling operations with the arrest of forty male individuals under its integrated district anti-vice and gaming "Operation Dadu" in the first 18 days of October.
Thirteen computers, thirty-one laptops, thirteen tablets, six Wi-Fi modems, four account ledgers and cash totaling RM 2,705 was confiscated from eight separate locations in the Johor Baru Selatan district.
Sulaiman Salleh, Assistant Police Commissioner of Johor Baru Selatan said at a press conference: "We believe that the illegal online gambling activities are widespread now as most people have mobile phones or devices.
According to Salleh, most online games on offer comprise live casino games such as roulette, black jack, slots and poker.
2015 has yielded 54 raids to date and the arrest of 255 individuals.
