Local pro takes down the first event for A$320,830

Local Aussie pro Robert Raymond scored a well-earned A$320,830 this week by taking down the first event in the latest iteration of the popular Aussie Millions annual live tournament series.
The Melbourne-based player bested a field of 1,565 entries – 245 up on last year's equivalent – to end up in the heads up with New Zealand's Qiang Fu, but not before both he and Qiang had narrowly escaped at the four-handed stage when they were the low stacks.
Raymond managed to leverage his heads up chip advantage into a win, leaving Qiang with a substantial second placing prize of A$198,115 – not bad for a A$1,150 buy-in price.
Other final table cashes included:
Michael Addamo A$117,910
Alexander Lynskey A$85,180
Manis Loeser A$57,750
Jack Efaraimo A$41,705
Samir Khoueis A$35,290
