Raises $15 million

London-based e-sports platform firm FACEIT has closed a Series A funding round in which it raised $15 million from investment houses United Ventures, Index Ventures and Anthos Capital, Reuters reports.
FACEIT will put the investment to work by building out its technology and a platform that already serves over 3 million users.
"With this round of funding, we will be able to further our three-pronged mission for a competitive gaming platform: a robust competitive community for players and organizers, an easy-to-implement competitive layer for developers, and custom offerings for brands tied to their products and services," said Niccolo Maisto, founder and chief executive officer of FACEIT.
The company, who collaborated with Valve, Twitch, WMEIIMG and Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting over the past year, says it will be announcing several additional game integrations, partnerships and product features in the coming months.
