Game Digital Plc Acquires Esports Online Platform

Accelerates eSports strategy in Spain
Omni-channel specialist retailer of video games, GAME Digital PLC has acquired eSports online platform SocialNAT from Social Electronica Sports Company S.L. (SESC) for an undisclosed consideration.
The Spain-based eSports platform company, who boasts over 150,000 registered users, will support GAME's growth in the eSports sector by providing both the platform and an established audience.
The deal covers all SocialNAT activities along with the retention of certain key individuals and complements GAME's previous acquisition of gaming events and eSports organiser Multiplay in March 2015.
Commenting on the acquisition, Pablo Crespo, managing director of GAME Spain said:
"GAME is firmly committed to delivering the best experiences across all areas of the interactive entertainment and videogames business. ESports present one of the most exciting developments in the industry and the acquisition of SocialNAT will help to accelerate our plans in this area, particularly in Spain."
