Dutch Lower House set to again debate much-delayed online gambling legalisation bill

Operators and industry observers alike are hoping that the much-delayed Dutch legalisation of online gambling will move forward today (Thursday) following yet another discussion on the issue in the Dutch parliament's Lower House.
Today's discussion continues that started last week by parliamentarians, and the hope is that the measure will move to a vote this time, sending it on to the national Senate and ultimately into a law that could achieve practical implementation next year.
Despite current proposals calling for a heavy tax rate of 29 percent on GGR, the Dutch regulator has revealed that there is keen interest among local and other EU-based operators in Dutch online gambling licensing and regulation.
After three years of fits and starts on this legislation, it appears that there really is some momentum building in the Netherlands.
