Department of Education advises Pagcor that it will no longer accept funds derived from gambling

In what seems to be an attempt to placate the corruption-busting rampage of new Philippines president Rodrigo Duterte, the Philippines Department of Education advised the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) Tuesday that it will no longer accept funds.
Pagcor chief Andrea Domingo confirmed to local reporters that she had received a notification from Education Secretary Leonor Briones informing her that the Education Department will no longer accept money from gambling operations, citing the issue as a matter of principle.
