Anti-online Gambling Sweep In Malaysia Hammers Illegal Operators In Four Districts

Over 500 individuals questioned and equipment and computers seized

Police in Johor Bahru, capital of the Malaysian state of Johor, report that over the past week police raids over four districts have resulted in over 500 individuals detained for questioning and the confiscation of 1,321 gaming machines from illegal online gambling venues, 14 tablets, 27 computers, and 46 laptops
Johor Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said police had raided 106 family entertainment and online gambling centres since Sept 29 in Kota Tinggi, Northern Johor Bahru, Kluang and Segamat.
Kamarul Zaman said 99 of the venues visited were unlicensed premises while another seven premises were abusing their business licences.
