No automatic renewal, says PAGCOR chief

Embattled e-games software provider, PhilWeb, will not have its online gaming software services contract with PAGCOR automatically renewed but will have to bid on the contract as it goes out to tender, chief executive, Andrea Domingo said this week.
"The selection of a service provider for PAGCOR's online gaming operations will be in accordance with Republic Act 9184, preferably through public bidding," Domingo said.
The Government Procurement Report Act requires competitive public bidding for all services to State agencies and Government owned companies.
Describing an automatic renewal as "no longer feasible," Domingo explained the original contract had been awarded more or less a decade ago the renewal of which must follow the requirements of modern Law but assured PhilWeb that the tender and bidding process will be expedited.
