New survey shows a trend away from unlicensed websites

The New Jersey research firm Commercial Intelligence has completed a study showing that online gamblers are moving to New Jersey regulated websites in preference to unlicensed offshore competitors.

Philly.com reports that Commercial Intelligence questioned 505 New Jersey online gamblers last month and found that 35 percent of them were completely new to online gambling, and that 37 percent had switched from illegal sites to New Jersey licensed and regulated sites in a market that launched last November.

Commercial Intelligence claims that the results of the study present "…a compelling fiscal case study for states seeking to cut their budget deficits."
