British Poker Awardees Appear Puzzled

Confused but pleased to be honoured

The British Poker Awards this week at the Hippodrome Casino in London were notable for the informal attire of many of those attending, and the apparent bewilderment of the awardees, reports the poker information site F5 Poker.

The obvious surprise of top names like Sam Trickett, Neil Channing, Liv Boeree, Vicky Coren and Sam Grafton appeared to go beyond traditional British reserve and modesty; whilst appreciative of the recognition, the awardees appeared to know little about the event or why they had been singled out.

For example, Channing, who was awarded the honour for being the best poker blogger, said openly that he had not written a ****ing blog for nine months, whilst Sam Trickett said he had no idea why he won Best Tournament Player, and Tony Kendall was equally surprised to learn he had won Best Contribution to Promoting Poker.

Nevertheless, it seemed to be a great evening where everyone enjoyed themselves, as can be seen in the Youtube vid posted here by CalvinAyre.com:
