Internet gambling enterprise handled wagers worth $670 million in its seven years of operation

Felix Gee Wan Tom, the Honolulu man whom prosecutors say headed a seven-year online gambling enterprise that handled over $670 million in wagers, has been sentenced to six months in prison for his role in the internet gambling ring after pleading guilty and forfeiting $4 million in assets to the state.

Over 20 other individuals, including prominent restaurant owner Thomas Ky, were arrested and charged following an extensive police investigation into the ring (see previous InfoPowa reports).

Earlier this month Ky was sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.
