Film Rights Bought On Tzvetkoff Book

James Leighton's "Alligator Blood" movie rights acquired by top director

The life and times of super online poker e-cash processor turned US federal stoolie, Daniel Tzvetkoff, will soon be up on movie screens following the acquisition of the movie rights to his biography "Alligator Blood" by top director Robert Luketic (director of Legally Blonde, 21 and others).

Author James Leighton told Poker News this week that the book on the rise and fall of Intabill's young multi-millionaire, who is perceived by many to be a principal character in the federal dismantling of major online poker sites in the US on Black Friday, has already been subjected to the screen-writing process and that casting will begin soon.

"I can confirm that Robert Luketic has made an offer for the movie rights and the offer has been accepted," Leighton told Poker News. "The current situation is that my agent in Los Angeles has received the contract and is in the process of fine-tuning it before it is signed. However, the script has already been written and Rob is hoping to start the process of casting etc. when he has finished working on The Expendabelles, which he is shooting this summer."

In an earlier interview, Leighton described Tzvetkoff thus:

"He was a regular guy who had this gift for spotting niches in technology, which he exploited to the full. He was friendly and extremely generous. He wanted to be Vinny Chase from Entourage. He loved the show and tried to replicate that lifestyle.

"Most guys in their twenties, with that much money, in an environment like Las Vegas would probably lose their head; and that is exactly what happened to him, except it had very serious consequences for thousands, if not millions, of people around the world."
