Former bracelet holder bested in a short heads up

Frenchman Pierre Milan has won his first World Series of Poker bracelet and $536,768 after surviving a tough and talented field of 1,164 other players to claim victory in event 29, a $2,500 buy-in NLHE contest that carried a prize pool of $2,650,375.

After 3 days of hectic action Milan entered the heads up with former WSOP 2013 NLHE four-handed bracelet winner Justin Oliver with a healthy lead that enabled him to dispatch his last opponent in just three hands, helped by victory in a huge pot.

Oliver's second placing rewarded him with $332,198, whilst other final table take-homes were:

Matt Salsberg $207,842

Thad McNulty $150,859

Barry Hutter $111,368

Jamie Armstrong $83,486

Andy Phan $63,502

Daniel Laming $48,952
