Americans Dominate This Year's World Series Of Poker

With two-thirds of the events now completed, millions of dollars have already been dispersed to successful players
With over a third of the events scheduled for the 2014 World Series of Poker now complete, it is clear that American players are flocking to the Las Vegas venue, with many earning big money from cashes in the wide variety of competitions on offer.
Thus far, 23 of the coveted WSOP winner's bracelets have been awarded, twenty of these to US players and the balance so far to European aces like Davidi Kitai, George Danzer and Dominik Nitsche.
The same US dominance is reflected in the amounts paid out in event cashes to players so far this year; Americans have taken home $38,059,289 in 2,720 total cashes, with nearest rival Canada not even close with $1,531,605 from 270 cashes.
Players from Britain have scooped $1,389,563 – but no bracelets so far, whilst the Germans have claimed two winner bracelets but only $972,205 in earnings and remain in fourth place on the earnings leaderboard.
Belgian ace Davidi Kitai ensured his country was represented in the fifth spot, winning a bracelet and a big enough prize to bring Belgium's 17 cashes to a total of $660,793.
But it's early days yet, and there's still plenty of prize money…and more than 40 bracelets…waiting to be won.
