Land gambling equipment manufacturer has an eye on convergence
Land gambling equipment supplier Gauselmann AG clearly has an eye on internet gambling industry opportunities following its appointment this week of Alexander Martin as director for new media business.
"We made the decision to create a separate management board position here due to the continually increasing importance of internet gaming in society and also within the company," chairman Paul Gauselmann explained, although he added the caveat that in his opinion the online business would never eclipse his company's involvement in the land gambling sector.
Martin (40) is a graduate in computer science and was previously a management consultant at A T Kearny in Düsseldorf.
He is experienced in markets using modern technology, and one of his core competencies is digital transformation in companies, which includes connecting traditional business models with the digital world.
"His experience and successes in this segment will advance our positive efforts to introduce and successfully market games with and about New Media to a global audience," Gauselmann said.
