Revenues from all forms of i-gaming could reach 21.1 billion by end-2014

The world of i-gaming, a proportional indicator of the future for i-gambling, is shifting towards mobile usage, with Asia driving a booming market, according to a new study by SuperData Research.

The research company predicts that overall mobile gaming revenues will reach $21.1 billion by the end of this year, and that by 2016, global gaming revenue will be at $28.2 billion as increasing numbers of smart phone and tablet users are generated by nations like Russia, India and China.

The company claims that the Asia Pacific region accounts for half the mobile gaming market and continues to grow as smartphone and tablet devices become ever more ubiquitous.

The Asian mobile gaming market is set to climb to $11.3 billion, according to SuperData; this includes revenue generated by in-game ads and in-app purchases.

Asian nations like China, South Korea and Japan spend more on a per player basis than western nations, the study found.
