Online Gambling Internet Study Underway

By Casinomeister, Last updated Oct 31, 2014

Do free-to-play games lead to real-money play?

An internet study on online gambling by Southern Cross University's Centre for Gambling Education and Research is now under way as the next stage in earlier research that found 13 percent of gamblers play social casino games (see previous InfoPowa report).

"There are quite a large proportion of Australians that do have gambling problems and it's important that we think about what do these games have an impact on?" researcher Dr Sally Gainsbury said.

The larger online study aims to better understand how social media, social casino games and gambling intersect.
