Paddy Power To Host Its First Live Poker Tourney In England

Manchester land venue will host the Madchester Poker Open
Online and land gambling group Paddy Power plc is poised to launch its first poker tournament on English soil, a three day, Alice in Wonderland themed festival hosted at the Manchester235 land casino and titled the Madchester Poker Open.
The tournament is scheduled to take place 21st – 23rd November.
The buy-in for the main event will be GBP 550, with a guaranteed minimum prize pool of GBP 100,000.
Popular beer producer Carlsberg is slated to provide sponsorship for the festival, which will include a number of NLHE side events, supported by online satellite qualifiers.
Patrick Thornton, head of Paddy Power Poker, said that his company has a strong following in the North West of England, which persuaded it to select a venue there for its first major English tournament.
