Consolidation rather than direct competitive overlap in retail outlets says Commission

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has given the go ahead for Tabcorp Group's proposed acquisition of ACTTAB following a review to determine fair competition.

"The ACCC considered that ACTTAB has not been a vigorous competitor in wagering markets and the proposed acquisition would only result in market concentration," ACCC Commissioner Dr Jill Walker said.
