Chinese Online Gambling Ring Broken Up

Hunan provincial police claim 20 million yuan (US$ 3.2 million) ring conducted online gambling operations

The publication China.org reports that police in China's central Hunan province have broken up an internet gambling ring involving over 20 million yuan in wagers (US$3.2 million), arresting seven people and searching for a further 20 individuals believed to be involved.

Over 200 officers were deployed in breaking up the ring, a police spokesman in the city of Yueyang revealed, adding that confessions had been made by those arrested so far, who are assisting police in their investigations.
