New Jersey Pop-up Was A Screw-up, Amaya Confirms (update)

Graphic was merely an example submitted to regulator

More light has been shed on last week's accidental publication of a pop-up advertising new real-money mobile gambling services to Full Tilt players in New Jersey (see previous InfoPowa reports).

Full Tilt's parent group, Amaya Gaming, has confirmed communication chief Eric Hollreiser's earlier statement that the pop-up was in error, adding:

"We have been developing a real money mobile poker app that has been submitted to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement as part of the review process of our application to offer real money gaming under a NJ DGE license.

"Unfortunately, a bug in an update to the Full Tilt play money poker app inadvertently included a pop-up window alerting players in New Jersey that a licensed real money offering was available."

The company goes on to point out that it appears that only a "very small number" of people were exposed to the errant pop-up before the company took the offending graphic down, and that at no point was the app accessible or available, and that even registration was not possible.
