Culture Department Responds To Alexander Complaint (update)

But does not comment on accusation that it is "resistant to change" on gambling advertising policy

Liberal Democrat politician Danny Alexander's complaint earlier today about invasive gambling advertising and a slow review of the issue (see previous InfoPowa report) has met with a quick response from the British government's Department of Culture Media and Sport (DCMS).

A DCMS statement advises:"The Government is completely committed to ensuring that player protection is at the heart of gambling policy and we will publish the government response to the review of gambling advertising shortly."

The Department did not respond an alleged comment from a government source that the Department is resistant to change on its gambling advertising policy.

Noting the response, Alexander restated Liberal Democrat calls for a change in the laws.
