Cates Is 2014's Biggest Online Poker Winner On Full Tilt

Full Tilt statistics show that the Jungleman is hard to beat

Dan "jungleman12" Cates was Full Tilt's biggest winner in 2014 according to stats released by the company this week…and if the poker pro's earnings from Pokerstars are added, his position at the top of the leaderboard is unassailable.

On Full Tilt alone Cates scored profits of $2.805,751 last year, with Pokerstars action adding another $631,288. Surprisingly, that's significantly lower than the $6.2 million won at Full Tilt in 2013 by German ace Niklas Heinecker, who subsequently opted to drop off the earnings radar.

The Full Tilt numbers show that Cates played 90,052 hands in almost 670 sessions for an average profit per hand of $31.15.

Second place went to Mikael "punting-peddler" Thuritz who enjoyed a higher profit per hand of $43.43 despite playing fewer hands (59,239) in fewer session (353).

Third was Patrik "FinddaGrind" Antonius on 41,850 hands over 373 sessions for an average per hand profit of $40.23.

Cates has found Full Tilt very profitable over the years, with his total profits on the site's nosebleed tables reaching over $10 million – much of it in NLHE games against some of the world's best high stakes online players, although he has also enjoyed success in other genres like PLO and 8-game.

The publication Card Player has also published its outstanding players list, topped by the at times controversial US pro Dan Colman, who picked up $15.3 million in 2014's Big One For One Drop at the World Series of Poker to bring his career earnings to $22.3 million and secure the Player of the Year accolade from the publication.

Card Player recognised Ami Barer in second place with earnings of almost $2.4 million, whilst Mike Leah of Canada came in at third with a little over $2 million in 2014 earnings, and Mustapha Kanit was applauded for a fourth spot on $1.2 million.
