First customer set to go live end of this month

NYX Gaming Group has confirmed that its Sportech-NYX Gaming Group (SNG) joint venture with Sportech PLC has been awarded a transactional waiver for internet gaming operations in New Jersey by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

SNG is now authorised to offer customers real-money online gaming in New Jersey through NYX's Open Platform System, the first of which is Resorts Casino Hotel who is set to go live at the end of February 2015 with over 120 slots and table games.

Forty of these games, developed by NYX's Australian-based development studio NextGen Gaming, will be new to the New Jersey market.

The new Resorts online casino site is presently live at Resortscasino.com, offering 32 slot games in free play mode. There are no table games or video poker titles in the game menu, but players can access the games on a PC, Mac, or mobile devices. There is provision for deposits to be accepted by Visa, Mastercard, ewallets, electronic check, and cash at the Resorts casino cage in Atlantic City once real money games launch.

"We are extremely happy to see our hard work and SNG's partnership with Resorts Casino come to life with the launch of NYX's real-money online platform in New Jersey," commented Matt Davey, chief executive officer of NYX. "This news marks meaningful progress in NYX's strategy to expand our business throughout regulated gaming markets worldwide."

Resorts Casino also has a partnership on internet gambling with Pokerstars, but this initiative has so far been stifled by delays in the granting of a licence to the online poker giant despite its acquisition and change of ownership to Amaya Gaming. There has been speculation recently that political interference by New Jersey governor Chris Christie has prevented the Division of Gaming Enforcement from approving Pokerstars despite the operator having a clean record (see previous InfoPowa reports).
