Yahoo Plans To Enter Daily Fantasy Sports Vertical Soon

Development work already well advanced

Internet behemoth Yahoo! will soon enter the daily fantasy sports vertical, the company's CEO has announced, revealing that development work is already advanced that will give Yahoo a "unique" approach to the sector.
"Normally, we do not announce products before launch but this has been such an area of interest for our fantasy players and our investors that we wanted to announce that we have a new daily fantasy offering in the works that will launch this summer," chief executive Marissa Mayer said, no doubt influenced by the fact that her company's fantasy sports fans already invest an estimated 30 billion minutes annually on their passion and can potentially be switched to the DFS genre.
Yahoo's product will inevitably go head to head with Amaya Gaming's DSF offering, due for launch prior to the next NFL season, as well as those of the already strongly established industry leaders FanDuel and DraftKings.
