57-year-old fraudster jailed for three years

Gary Watts, the 57-year-old Bicester adviser who was entrusted to handle the finances of a 92-year-old woman and elderly man, but spent GBP 800,000 of their money on internet gambling (see previous InfoPowa reports) has been sentenced to three years in jail.
Watts appeared for sentencing at the Oxford Crown Court after earlier pleading guilty to one count of theft, in which the court heard that between January 2014 and March 2015, he stole GBP 800,000 which he subsequently lost through online gambling.
The case was investigated by the Thames Valley police's Economic Crime Unit.
