California Online Gambling Hearing Postponed (update)

No new date yet

The much-anticipated California House hearing on internet gambling scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed to a date yet to be advised, according to Poker Players Alliance executive director John Pappas.
The hearing "Gambling: Internet poker" was the first of four planned on the topic (see previous InfoPowa reports) and would have discussed a total of four online poker legalisation bills currently in the House.
The road to legalisation in California has been a long and rocky one, with a wide range of interested parties all seeking their own optimum solutions and competing to get their bills approved. As a result, bills have become bogged down at committee stage year after year.
On Wednesday Pappas tweeted: "Postponed: Today's CA hearing on internet #poker is being pushed off the calendar. So I will not be testifying. Could be next week now-jp".
