William Hill Australia Intros 'click To Call'

By Casinomeister, Last updated May 1, 2015

Bookmaker believes in-play live betting option is within the boundaries of Australian gambling law

'Click to Call' is an interesting in-play betting alternative introduced by William Hill Australia although the bookmaker may be sailing pretty close to the wind.
The initiative allows punters to make in-play bets via activation of their device microphone effectively circumventing the Australian Interactive Gambling Act 2001 that makes online in-play live betting illegal.
The ban does not extend to punters placing their in-play wagers over the telephone and this is what William Hill is leveraging.
Australian punters will need to activate their device microphone before navigating to William Hill's live betting page where they would make their selection from the range of bets on offer. Once their stake has been selected, players simply click the 'Call to Place Live Bet" button.
Click to call is currently available to PC and MAC desktop, Android and a selection of smartphone devices. Functionality is limited across the iOS platform at present.
