Application invitation from gambling regulator closes
A note from Spain's gambling regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) informs receipt of twelve new applications from unnamed online operators applying for entry into the Spanish market.
The notice follows a tender invitation from Spain's gambling regulator which opened November 1 and closed December 9, 2014.
– 12 new operators requested a total of 20 General Licenses comprising 9 in the "gambling", 11 in the "other games" and 32 in the "Unique" categories.
– There were seven new applications for a general license comprising 6 in "bets" and 1 in the "other games" categories.
– 17 applications were submitted for Singular Gaming Machine licensing (10 corresponding to qualified operators and 7 to new operators) as well as 1 License Application for Singular Crusader Bets from a new operator.
In related news, gaming machine manufacturer R.Franco Grupo has its eye on Spain's online gambling sector and is one of those companies who took advantage of the DGOJ's invitation when applying for two general licenses.
Under its R.Franco Digital division, applications were made to be licensed to offer "Bets", and more specifically sports betting, as well as another for "other games" which covers slots, roulette, blackjack and baccarat.
The company's expansion into online will be led by R.Franco's director of new business development, Alejandro Casanova.
