Members of the DVTM want to repeal "chaotic and complex" laws that fly in the face of EU treaty

The German Association of Telecommunications and Media (DVTM), a trade body campaigning to bring order to what it says is the "chaotic and complex" legal situation on online gambling in Germany, has a powerful new member.

The international online poker giant, Pokerstars has just joined the association and intends to support its efforts.

Speaking at an association function in Munich, Eric Hollreiser, the communications chief at Pokerstars' parent group Amaya Gaming, said: "The legislative situation in Germany calls on industry to take action. The industry must work together to develop an effective impact… the common goal is a consumer-oriented, legally compliant and EU compliant regulation of the German online gaming market."
