Yesterday, William Hill launched a new “2 Clear” offer timed to coincide with the beginning of the Flat racing season.
“It is a simple concept that if you back a horse that wins by two lengths or more you receive a 15% free bet bonus,” said Rupert Adams, a William Hill spokesperson, describing their latest promotion. Bonus pay outs are capped at £100.
According to statistics, 30% of Flat races last year were won by two or more lengths.
In promotions like this operators attempt a delicate balancing act between increasing racing revenues and stretching racing margins.
