Microgaming Delivers A Spookilicious Trio Of New Games This Month

Halloween, Monster Wheels and Moby Dick

In addition to the successful release of Microgaming‘s ‘Halloween’ slot (see previous InfoPowa report), the prolific developer launched ‘Monster Wheels’ last week and is scheduled to release ‘Moby Dick’ on October 18.

‘Monster Wheels’ will appeal to horror-genre lovers and petrol heads alike. The five reeler features a cast of iconic horror genre characters and old school hot rod race cars, combining rich graphics and a spooky soundtrack integrated with rock ‘n’ roll riffs.

Players are able to take control of the wheel with customisable slot features and unique functionality where they can select either 128 or 288 ways to win.

Both options having a different reel layout backed by a blazing racetrack.

Landing three Gas Can scatter symbols kick starts a free spins round where players can choose the type of bonus to fuel up their wins. Selections include, 12 free spins with a 2x multiplier, 6 free spins with a 4x multiplier, or 3 free spins with an 8x multiplier. Free spins can also be retriggered.

Monster Wheels went live with Microgaming and Quickfire operators on Wednesday 4 October.

Set sail on a hunt for the legendary great white whale with Captain Ahab in the ‘Moby Dick online slot™’, a five-reel, 25-fixed payline video slot developed by Rabcat, exclusive to Microgaming and Quickfire.

‘Moby Dick online slot’ offers a Win Freezing feature where players can receive a bonus spin for every winning spin. During bonus spins all winning symbols will be held and all other symbols will spin again giving players the chance to collect bigger rewards.

Up to 20 free spins can be won by landing four or more scatter symbols, and the Gamble Game feature allows players the opportunity to double their gold. Players have up to five chances to choose between the copper and the silver cup in the Gamble Game, and if a tea bag emerges from the chosen cup, player winnings are doubled!

Moby Dick online slot™ goes live with Microgaming and Quickfire operators on Wednesday 18 October.

“On top of our branded title game Halloween®, we’re delivering two more slots this October, each bringing exciting features and a different theme,” David Reynolds, games publisher at Microgaming, said.

“Monster Wheels is all about player choice and features an unconventional slot design of 4-3-2-3-4 reels with the option to switch to 2-4-2-4-2 reels. What’s more, players have the freedom to select their own free spins round, making this slot perfect for those who want to customise their gaming experience.

“Meanwhile, Rabcat’s Moby Dick online slot™ is graphically rich with highly detailed artwork. The game’s features with both free spins and the Win Freezing element make for a highly entertaining slot.”

New Slot From Vancouver

Old Skool Studios brings iWin’s timeless Jewel Quest franchise exclusively to Microgaming’s Quickfire platform

Old Skool Studios, a games developer based in Vancouver and a Microgaming and RNG Foundry development partner, has announced the launch of Jewel Quest Riches, its third Quickfire title, and first branded slot game.

Jewel Quest Riches brings iWin’s timeless Jewel Quest franchise exclusively to Quickfire, powered by Microgaming, the company announced in a press release Wednesday. The game appeals to players who enjoy casual puzzle games, rewarding strategy with mystery, progression, prizes and achievements.

Played on 5×5 reels, it offers cascading jewels with Increasing Multipliers – up to 12X for every spin. The skill-based Jewel Quest Bonus takes players on a mythical journey across 8 replayable exotic worlds with 3-star achievements.

Every bonus level offers different Match-3 puzzles with a local progressive jackpot, immersive music and quality visuals. Up to 12 bonus moves are awarded, with players using skill and strategy to solve puzzles and earn prizes. Hidden relics are collected with big matches and are chosen in a final mini-game to earn a Mystery Multiplier.

Mike McGraw, executive producer of Old Skool Studios, said: “Jewel Quest Riches is our third game released on Quickfire and our first branded title. This casual game represents many months of planning, design and development, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the iWin partnership.”

Andrew Hollis, games manager for Quickfire at Microgaming, says: “It’s great to be working with Old Skool Studios and to be able to exclusively offer Jewel Quest to our Quickfire operators. Since its launch last Jewel Quest has performed very well for the operators that have taken it live.”

C.J. Wolf, CEO of iWin, said that although Jewel Quest has been accessible on many platforms, this is the first iteration of the game as a real money slot game.

“This game highlights all of the features that made Jewel Quest a worldwide phenomenon,” he said.

Brian Cullingworth

Infopowa news was a staple of Casinomeister’s news from 2000 until 2019. Brian Cullingworth was the main writer, contributor, and was one of the most knowledgeable persons I have ever known involved in the online casino industry.

We first met in January 2001 at the ICE in London where I observed him going booth to booth interviewing online casino, software, and licensing jurisdiction representatives. Brian was also heavily involved with our forum as “Jetset“, he was involved as an informal consultant to eCOGRA, the OPA, and was a player advocate who assisted countless aggrieved players with his connections to industry folks. He also published “Casino Cautions” via Infopowa news for quite a number of years. These can be found in our news archives.

His passing in February 2019 was a dark day for us. He will be forever missed.
