5 percent tax on wagers

Further austerity measures will see the Greek Government introduce a 5 percent tax on wagers placed with Greek betting firm OPAP, Reuters reported Tuesday.
The tax is expected to raise between Euro 300 to 400 million per annum and "forms part of prior actions Greece must legislate this week to unblock Euro 2 Billion in bailout funds and Euro 10 Billion to recapitalise four of its largest banks".
