GiG eye up Croatia

The Gaming Innovation Group ( GiG ) who are responsible for operating several leading online casinos, have cast their eye over Croatia and the Croatian iGaming marketplace, announcing they plan to acquire a major shareholding in Croatian firm Top Games.

Currently Croatia has 5 licensed iGaming operators, but the acquisition by GiG of Top Games, who already have approval to provide an online casino in the country, is seen as their way to break into marketplace there.

With a population of just over 4 million people, the acquisition of Top Games by GiG will allow them to fulfil their plans of launching a new online casino in Croatia in 2020.

Speaking about the acquisition which is still subject to the necessary regulatory approval, the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Gaming Innovation Group, Richard Brown, stated: “I’m excited to further expand our B2C business by entering another regulated jurisdiction. Croatia is a very interesting marketplace for gambling and supports our strategy to grow our own brands in high potential and regulated markets.”
