The New Jersey online gambling partnership of Borgata-Bwin has delivered the first major jackpot – worth $153,638.75 – to an anonymous 29-year-old punter who hit the big win on a stake of just $1.50.
Playing on Borgata Casino.com, the Monmouth County gambler was home visiting his parents in the Garden State this week when he logged onto Borgata’s newly launched internet gaming site to try his luck on the "Going Nuts" online progressive slot machine.
At around 1 a.m. on Tuesday he was stunned to see information on-screen that he had hit the mega cash jackpot, winning $153,638.75.
"I was in utter shock!" he said. "I could not believe what had just happened…I was just staring at the screen in awe."
"I’ve been coming to Borgata to play poker and black jack with my friends since I turned 21," the punter told Borgata management. "It was really cool to win online but I will definitely be returning to Atlantic City soon."
