Bonus Problems At The Root Of Club Gold Casino Changes? (update)

By Brian Cullingworth, Last updated Aug 29, 2014

Belated communication from management leaves questions unanswered

Following growing player and affiliate interest on a number of forums on the radical and rapid changes at Club Gold online casino (see previous InfoPowa reports), the management has issued a rather belated communication to marketing affiliates, blaming bonus inflexibility for its sudden switch to a largely unknown software.
The communication, allegedly signed by affiliate manager Liisa Chambers, acknowledges that the rapid changes (and the lack of communication surrounding them) have been confusing, and it confirms that "Club Gold Casino has moved to The Hawk game suite developed by Habanero Systems."
Chambers claims that the previous software platforms from Net Entertainment and Microgaming – installed barely three months ago – were of "insufficient flexibility" on the bonus front.
She says that the situation was "unsustainable" and that this motivated the switch to the Hawk software, which she says will deliver "a superior gaming experience".
Chambers apologises for the bad communications without adequately explaining why neither players nor affiliates were kept in the loop, denying them the ability to adapt to the circumstances.
"It is understandable that you too will have many questions, they will all be answered as soon as the paramount items have been taken care of," she concludes, without revealing why such unseemly and apparently inefficient haste was necessary; whether there has been an ownership or management change; and why staff were allegedly terminated at short notice, although their names are still being used in promotional and other offers.

Brian Cullingworth

Infopowa news was a staple of Casinomeister’s news from 2000 until 2019. Brian Cullingworth was the main writer, contributor, and was one of the most knowledgeable persons I have ever known involved in the online casino industry.

We first met in January 2001 at the ICE in London where I observed him going booth to booth interviewing online casino, software, and licensing jurisdiction representatives. Brian was also heavily involved with our forum as “Jetset“, he was involved as an informal consultant to eCOGRA, the OPA, and was a player advocate who assisted countless aggrieved players with his connections to industry folks. He also published “Casino Cautions” via Infopowa news for quite a number of years. These can be found in our news archives.

His passing in February 2019 was a dark day for us. He will be forever missed.
