Bad Taste From Gambling Website

Poking fun at football stars who lost money gambling rejected by newspaper

The Metro newspaper reported Friday that it has rejected a tasteless bid to promote jackpots and slots by poking fun at football stars past and present who have lost large amounts of money gambling.

The concept featured a graphic of the team positions of the unfortunate eleven players, some of whom subsequently fell on hard times.

Without naming the website which dreamed up this "own goal", Metro described the pitch to its Sports section as "very inappropriate" and entirely lacking in humour.
