Is their any official word from any of the casinos about this
What short sightedness are u referring to??you only have to look at the problems people are having from other countries who don’t have the protection the UKGC afford us.
What percentage of players actually go above the £2 mark? I’d say not very many as a whole the majority of those effected by all these restrictions are those who line their pockets from this industry the strongest will survive the big operators.
I'm not surprised, it will kill the industry, just as the £2 max on FOTB's has killed the high street industry. In the news today :You do not have permission to view link Log in or register now.

Cant remember the time i placed a bet above £2 to be honest but who are they to tell me i cant place one if i want to?
Good. Anything above 2 pound is ridiculous and if you have that much money to waste go to Vegas rather than spinning 10 pound in your underpants at home.
Hopefully this pushes people back to sports betting like good old days
FWIW I can see £2 being implemented. It’s way too ridiculous.
all you have to do is prove SOW BEFORE you can play. If you’re on £250k per year. Ok mate you can deposit £5k a month and £20 max spins
if you’re on 20k. You can deposit £50 a month, £2 max.
That’s the only sensible approach IMO
But then you still have the issue of the people who have built up a big bankroll from nothing or are funding their play via a big withdraw from elsewhere. Why shouldn't these people be able to up the bet?
although this won’t affect me it’s still annoying, why should people who want to high roll and can afford it be penalised because of others who can’t? Sorry but you don’t say to an alcoholic you are only allowed 1 cider from the off license. It’s just all very controlling and basically telling people what they can and can’t do with there money. We are already the most spied on in Europe now this what next credit checks before making an account?
It may be ridiculous in your opinion, but this is not the real issue here. It's the government over regulating and dictating what one can or can't do. What if the UK gov decides folks are drinking to much at the pubs and starts rationing pints? Plenty of problem drinkers out there.Good. we?that’s half true. We ended up closing a lot less shops originally planned and we did post great numbers last year.
The truth is we didn’t know how punters would react, it turned out a few were happy to sit on £2 spins, a few turned to bingo, a few turned into SSBTS, admittedly the numbers weren’t as high as 2018 but they were never going to be.
retail is still a massive winner for us, it’s obviously on a decline but it’s still a high cash cow. There are 2 massive projects incoming in the next couple of years for retail. Personally I think they’re a last hurrah - but there are still 15-20 years left.

we?
I agree the bookies won't be going anywhere short term, but betting revenue is down too to what it was years ago isn't it on the retail side? There were still pretty heavy closures.
On the other side of the coin you can argue that it was good, a bookmaker is supposed to be a bookmaker, not an amusement arcade, which is pretty much what a lot of shops were, and its not that long ago we were close to getting extra FOTB's into each shop. Considering how small some of the shops were, sticking another 4 FOTB's in would have meant they wouldn't have even been able to display the days racing pages!
