Yep, it's that time of the year again...the Casinomeister Awards are being compiled, formulated, and kicked around. This is your chance to suggest new and interesting categories, awards, recipients, or any other input for that matter.

For the newbies, The Casinomeister Awards are dished out right after the Xmas break. It's a super special annual event that's been done since 2001.

For quite a number of people, these are the only awards that matter...

The most recent years:

Best Worst 2008

Best Worst 2008

Just to add - here is last year's video presentation of the awards where I'm joined by Protecto and Vortran007:

Gives you an idea what they are all about.

Cant wait to see the results, do we get to vote?
You can always give me input - I don't set up an official vote since these things tend to get abused.

"Vote for us at Casinomeister and receive an extra $10 bonus" if you see what I mean :p

I was going to ask when this was happening. When I first arrived at CasinoMesiter I spent at least an hour (maybe 2) reading up on the past awards.

Suggestions: Best and Worst promotions. Best and worst new slots games (actual games not software provider)

EDIT: The 90s called, they want their suit back :D

EDIT2: See screenshot.

Boy, this thread died, didn't it?

Well, at the risk of being self-serving, I'd think the Heroes Casino saga would be deserving of some type of award, good or bad. Heroes Casino- BOOOOO! Galewind Software- YEEEEEAAH!!:D

Yep Heroes was a big one and the issue with you wasnt it, def in the running for a award.

Let's not forget the software provider who cam good with the money though, if anything they should get the mention for paying you out such a large amount when they didnt need to.

The ones that stick out to mind are,

(1)- Hereos,

(2)- Pittbull poker and that massive debacle

(3)- Did the CAP incident with Warren and Lou happen this year??, time passes quickly.

(4)- the playtech casino not paying out the progressive jackpot to the client who then went to the media.

Umm, thats it off the top of my head.

Some positives,

3dice again for customer service, the only one remotly close is 32red and we all know they will get best caisno again, they always stay high on the list for me also.

I dont want to post just the negative thing so will have a few beers this arvo and think of some good things that happened over the year.

P.S- is there something for meister forum members, the most productive throughout the year, the one who everyone likes, best postings or something along these lines?

My first year here at casinomeister so don't know if these suggestions fit in:

Most valued forum member of 2009
Most valued post of 2009
Best winner screenshot of 2009

They fit in perfectly, but there'd be an outcry when I walked away with all three! :o

Really look forward to these awards - they're a great benchmark for what's happened over the last twelve months and what to expect for the future; it's difficult reading all the threads and keeping up to speed.

I'd like to see the best/most interesting casino innovation of the year. Yeah, way to word a category Slotster! What I mean is, the best/most innovative feature/contribution from an online casino outside of new slots/games etc...

I'll go away, have five minutes, and come back again when I've thought through what I meant to post, instead of just typing what falls out of my fingers. Idiot.

"Award For Innovation" is probably all you need :) Just have to add a strap that explains it doesn't include slots lol.

I'd like to see an award for a casino that recognises players are individual and have individual needs. Ones that flush, reduce reverse times on request, award comps to players on an individual basis and communicate on a one-to-one level uncoerced. Trouble is I can only think of two that really do that effectively and they are already well known. I wonder why ;)

Really looking forward to these

A couple I have thought of:

Best Forum Thread of 2009

Best Casino Rep of 2009

Also while it is great 32Red are so consistantly good it would be nice to recognise a few more casinos in some way. Maybe there could be a best Playtech, best Microgaming etc etc. There are a lot of other casinos that give very good service also.

Incase anyone doesn't think these awards are important here is a snippet from last year:

Should Have Known Better Award

To the operator of Eurolinx who brought me into the Bigrounder72 mess. You should have known better than to have lied to both me and to the player community. You don't bullshit the Meister and think I won't find out.

Don't mess with the Meister!!!

My first year here at casinomeister so don't know if these suggestions fit in:

I personally think any forum has to be wary of awarding players annually for their contributions.

It has been known on other forums to create an element of annomosity from the members who thought they deserved a certain award more than someone else. Also material posted is subjective, and it may be that the most popular members receive awards to try and keep the majority happy.

Gamblers are by nature competitive people, so keeping the community spirit and making every member feel valuable is important. Rather than having a competition to see whose the best at this or that, which could alienate some members, even making them feel that there contributions are somehow less worthy.

In my opinion the Casinomeister awards should be kept for the industry itself, and perhaps have some recognition awards done seperatly for the forum as a bit of fun.

Ah yes, but I usually dish out the "Most Annoying Poster" award out each year. It's a coveted award that many can only dream of :D
Best Worst 2008

This year - competition has been tough as we've seen a number of members clawing at each other to achieve this milestone. :p

Good post

How about John Wright of This Is Vegas for 'Worst Casino Manager' or 'Worst Customer Service Experience' for the 5 week debacle I was involved in earlier in the year. Maybe Im biased, but it was the worst I can remember - and it made it to the CM webcast. Still to this day I am yet to receive a personal apology or anything - not an email or PM - nada.

I would like to see Tradition Casino win a 'Most Responsive Operator' award for continuing to listen and adapt to player requests and views, including reducing cashout times and implementing better bonus programs - as well as a very visible presence on the board.

Oh and how about JHV for 'Most Controversial Poster' or '12-cylinder Motor Mouth' award. I havent seen such a case of literary diarrhoea in many years.

For some reason when I read this I immediately thought of MGs million euro tournament. However maybe it would better fit the category of most innovative feature/contribution from an online casino that fell way below expectation?

How about a "Race to the rogue pit" award? There were a couple brand new casinos that just started and fell into the pit practically right out of the gate.

Or how about "Processor/ewallet screwups"?

BTW I love the evil player awards! I vote there should be a runner-up also.

Even though they have been reacreddited, I think the Rushmore group should be at the top of the list for biggest disappointment of the year.

There have been quite a few disappointments this year. Actually it's been rather depressing...

Evil player of the year: Kildare. Hands down.

Can't help but agree there.

How about "One player can make a difference" to Roanan for his excellent work in pursuing the MG tourney cheaters.

And I think Galewind Software deserves a special "Stepping up to the Plate" award for their payment when Heroes failed to pay Westlandbowl his blackjack winnings.

I couldn't agree more.

Other software providers should learn from Galewind. If this was the case, RTG wouldn't have the rep that they do for licensing any tom dick or harry.

I'll third that!

I think that the CAP fiasco early in the year should be recognised in some way - that was really quite extraordinary.

As tradition has it, it takes me a while to get it together after the "Winter Lull" and they are normally published at the end of the second/third week of January. We're on target for anytime between this Friday and next Tuesday :D

Hang in there :p

I'm sure that Bryan already has these done....and is just organizing it all, but wanted to throw my two cents worth in anyway.

Best Overall Casino - 32Red. What can I say? Day in, day out.....year in, year out....they just keep getting it right. Payments in under 24 hrs, 7 days a week. Email support response in under half an hour, ALWAYS. Other than a few issues with MG themselves ie. software....another pretty much complaint free year. There were a couple of issues (more software related), that were dealt with quickly and efficiently.

And the staff? My beloved Susan is gone....but we still have Jonathan, Dominic, STEVE F (LOL Steve...how's that?), the Lauras, Jayne, David, Kerry, Mark (promotional manager) and probably others that I've missed. Each and every one top notch and extremely capable at their jobs.

Not much more anyone can say really.

Best Manager - Pat Harrison. Always on top of any issues that arise, no matter how big or small. Perfect example...there was an issue with CC deposits this past weekend, and of course neither Dale nor Pat are around so I brought it to the attention of regular support...who assured me it would be looked after on Monday. Sure enough, first thing this morning, I had an email from Pat, asking for more details....and we went through a few things, and test runs. They have now pinpointed the problem, and I believe it's fixed. Point is....how many times have you heard casino support tell you that they will "escalate" your issue to management, payments, whoever..only to never hear another word? Happens all the time at lesser casinos, with lesser managers. Not here, and not with him. He absolutely deserves this again.

Well done again Ed and Pat, for assembling such a fine cast of characters. Any casino will only be as good as the people who operate it and the people who work there. Kudos to all!!

Best US Facing Casino - Gotta be 3Dice for the originality of games, the super fast payouts (especially to US players), the top notch customer support staff, the ongoing tournaments...and Enzo himself (who again, goes above and beyond). A unique playing experience and yet another casino with very few, if any, legit complaints posted against it. They are doing it all right....and other casinos who continue to accept US customers should take a look at how they do things. The other thing I really like about 3Dice is the no affiliate program. It stands to reason without having to pay affiliates that 25% to 35% commission.....that money gets kicked back to players, in one form or another. Overall, a really good business model.

Worst Software - It's a tossup for me between Rival and TopGame...but I'd have to with TopGame just for all the major software issues they had this past year. Not the least of them being, the missing 192k from the Dougie's Delights game....that to my knowledge, never was returned. Rival for that stupid Irish Luck fiasco, and the worst white label business model I've ever seen. Players who don't even take bonuses get bonus banned, because they happened to get lucky and win. Complete and utter joke these guys are...with the exception of Slotocash....who should actually win an award for managing to rise above the antics of Rival themselves.

Best New Game This Year - Toss up for me between the Stickshifter slot at 3Dice and Hellboy. Love em both. Stickshifter is completely original and Hellboy is just a really cool game IMO. Potential big wins, but low enough variance to keep it interesting.

That's all I can think of for now....really looking forward to Bryan's choices. It's always a great read.

Nicolas Johnson should get an award for best rep because he truly is the best. And "Rambler" would feel honored to just be nominated for most annoying Posts.

Burnin' the midnight oil now...I predict Wednesday now. Better late than never :p

Typical man.....just like dog years..days are actually weeks. :p

Looking forward to it Bryan!!
