Yep, December is when I go into the Winter lull and contemplate the awards for the year. If some of you are unfamiliar with this, here are the last few years:

Each year I ask for suggestions on categories you'd like to see, or anything else for that matter. Now is your chance to make your voice heard :D

The awards' announcement is normally made within the first couple of weeks of January.
 
Best Affiliate Program: Ladbrokes, Party Partners, BWin, Affiliate Lounge...Could name a few others, but these are some. Prompt payments, no continuous begging for more exposure but good ideas only for conversion, personal customer service...

Best Casino: Again Ladbrokes at least - several reasons like good promotions for every gambler type, fast cashouts, no annoying promotional emails/newsletters, fast email customers service, good range of gambling services (sports betting, poker, games, scratchcards...). Slot'O'Cash would be my other choice maybe.

Biggest Disappointment of the Year: Downhill of MG casinos (Go Wild and Grand Prive cases to start with)

Best Software Supplier: Well, MG still holds this, though Grand Virtual is very underrated and should get this award IMO.

Worst Software Supplier: Chartwell. Of course this is better than rigged softwares, but they are large company and have had casino software available for several years and they still haven't been able to fix the super annoying crash bugs, lag, slooooooow gaming etc. It is possible to create pretty good non-download software as Wagerworks has shown, but these guys don't seem to care.

Most Annoying Affiliate Program: I think Lucky Ace deserves this with their launch spam.


Will name a few more awards later when more comes to my mind.

Expanding the nominations to include "best game of 2008" or "best new game of 2008" would be interesting

I don't think that's been included in the past.

And of course the "worst game of 2008" would be of interest too.

For lack of a better category, I nominate GoWild for the "Head in the Sand Award" of 2008. More appropriately, maybe a new category could be created, such as: "Worst Casino Launch" or "Worst New Casino."

If you add "Worst Casino Launch", I would also nominate Aladdin's Casino. Especially since they decided to do a soft-launch and lie about their affiliation with any other casino (Which turned out to be a new casino that Club World opened) to players. Once they were called out on that, they finally admitted that it was a new casino in their group.

Another great addition would be an "Evil Affiliate Program" award, which would be won by Grand Prive`, hands down. GW would be a close runner-up.

Some other good ones above too! Here's my first input:-

Best Casino: (Bearing in mind I love me bonuses!) Ladbrokes, 32Red (again!) or Sloto'Cash.

Best Affiliate Program: Sloto'Cash - fastest payers and the one thing Rival have got right; the affy back-end is among the best in the business.

Back-stabbers of the Year: Grand Prive - obviously!

Head in the Sand award: MG for churning out slot after slot every month - never heard of Quality, not Quantity...?

Incompetence award: Rival for (nearly) always releasing a new game without proof-reading their own rules for ridiculous silly mistakes, and taking too long to fix bugs in their games.

Best new slot: Tomb Raider - Secret of the Sword (MG), or Baby Boomer's Cash Cruise (Rival)

Worst new slot: Well MG have dozens of these, but I think the worst one I played was Big Kahuna - Snakes & Ladders. Rival have a couple of contenders in this category; Western Wildness & Gobblers Gold.

Biggest Disappointment: The death of Player Preferred & Cantor (Kismet) softwares. R.I.P. :(

Most sickening video: The APCW sell-out to Gambling Wages video

Most annoying people: The state government (or whatever you call them) of Kentucky, USA

Biggest Missed Opportunity to make a Fortune award: All softwares / casinos who impose totally ludicrous $1 / 1 minimum chips on their Roulette instead of 10c / 10p! :mad:

Ministering Angel Casino was the name!:D (how could I forget! My unreachable withdrawal of a whopping $30 dollars into the only method of withdrawal.. to an e-wallet that has no way to get the money to anyone or anywhere else! and that was after meeting the wagering requirements with a freebie on the worst slots ever created!):laugh::laugh:

I can agree with that one. But I think there should be two in that category. Pamper casino was a really stupid name also!

I remember one casino launch very well....

It was one of the funniest threads I've read here.

It went on for over 15 pages. Apparently it was a bunch of Serbian ex casino employees who launched a casino, tried to motivate people to bet 1000$ on a single hand with their "bonus program", had more than dodgy software, claimed everyone was jealous of them... :D

In the end their "rep" here actually managed to get banned for insulting forum members. :D
They were called Ministering Angel. They deserve a honorable mention in some category, or perhaps even in several of them

I forgot to mention why I didnt put my thoughts down for best / worst casino. I feel since I am a US resident I cant be objective since I never get to play at places like 32 Red etc...

Thats the only reason I picked the categories I did. I wanted to add one more though

I think I have decent change on this category with Old / Expired Link screenshot posted as a part of Link Outdated / Removed at winning screenshots thread.

...Too bad that the screenshot is not actually my personal win (as mentioned in the original post of course too), but a (former) member's of our website's professional gamblers blogging team instead. :|

Best Casino Manager Tom at ClubWorld...always takes care of things right away

Best Customer Support ClubWorld...they have Live Support, toll free numbers to call, and email. Each and every time I've had to use one of the above I've always gotten through to someone and they were more than happy to oblige.

Best Newest I-Gaming-Rep on Casinomeister Louise..lets hope she continues this long after the hoopla dies down :)

I am going to have to agree with Heatherad on the best casino and customer service - Club World all the way for me with Slotocash a close 2nd.

Casino that needs to get it together - Absolute Slots. Love the games, hate the sketchy payout times.

I can't vote for worst casino because I only play at 3 regularly with 2 more Rivals a maybe.

Maybe its also about time we had a separate vote by I-gaming reps to know what they think of our forum members eg Most difficullt member to deal with, most understanding member etc. No offences taken for the former as we are grown-ups and must be prepared to take on criticisms.

We could do with more voices from the other side to bridge the chasm.

Allow me to assist;) It was Ministering Angel, and should be nominated for con of the year award too. Looked like nothing more than a "front" for a syndicate trying to gather personal data for onward sale to criminals. They even ripped off their Web design company, let alone any players.
Maybe the award should be named after them;)


Come on Google indexing, do your duty, Ministering Angel, rip off casino, Ministering angel do not minister to their creditors.

Ministering Angel, better off playing at Palace of Chance in terms of likelihood of getting paid.

They are probably not even around any more, not under THAT name, anyway, - Gold VIP Club perhaps? any connection.

Worse Casino 2008 - 3Dice (posting player stats without the players permission is a big no-no... regardless of how mad the casino manager is at the player... That and "turning off player deposits" NOT at the request of the player, but listing it as "at the request of the player" again because the manager did not agree with the player or was just plain angry at them. Sorry guys IMHO It's very unproffessional... and happened to more than just one player)

Most Shocking thread of 2008- "The dirty little secrets behind Palace of Chance" we all knew they were crooked.. but this was a shocker.

I have to disagree with Ladbrokes being a "top" casino. Yet again I have had a missing scratchcard, a blindingly simple issue that has, yet again, dragged on for three days.

Just EMail the sodding thing again, or play it for me & tell me the result - oh no, constant to-ing and fro-ing, excuse after excuse -promising to sort it out, then today telling me that there was nothing wrong after all, and proving it by giving me a copy of my credited scratchcards, which even a FIVE YEAR OLD could spot the missing entry for the 9th December.

This has been a CONSTANT problem with this promotion type, they REFUSE to run it "in house", and INSIST on using this "third party", one that simply CANNOT be communicated with by Ladbrokes CS in any meaningful time period, and have to have the problem thrown back and forward many times before a solution is reached.


All this crap for what is probably a 5 or 10 scratchcard from over 50 lost on the latest hoover from MG, Deck The Hall. 6 DAYS, at 100 spins each, and STILL not one single set of free spins.

MY " key now gives@, I can't use the symbol for MY currency which now shows as # - US Dollars is $ (so still OK).

Any ideas, the one my Mum has is the same, and she has to remember to use the "wrong" keys all the time.

Mine just WENT "wrong", and if I figure it out, I can fix my Mum's too:D

Check your keyboard language settings. What you're describing are the US English settings - not UK.

I have personally received answers to my questions from CS via email in less than 5 hours every time (care[at]ladbrokes.com). Also I don't recall a single player complaint from Ladbrokes players.


Well, two more awards that came into my mind:

Worst Named Sportsbook (they have a casino too): begawin.com [Beg A Win]. Do I have to beg for my cash outs to be processed too?

Best Overall Customer Support Of All Gambling Sites: PokerStars.
 
Time of judgement.

Best casino: I only play at a few ones. But if I had to recommend just one casino it would be Intercasino. Good promos, fast cashouts, good software etc.

Worst casino: Simon Says. The level of incompetence on all major fields was quite shocking.

Best CS: 32Red. 3Dice and Club World also have very good CS but what sets 32Red apart is the high quality and speed of e-mail support.

Best Casino Manager: Enzo.

Worst Player Experience: Tusk (the poker skins). Players have not to date seen a dime of their balances. MG doesnt actually come clean out of this. Balances are not going to be paid in full, they are unsecured creditors. Hoping for the best tough.

The Most Annoying Forum Member(s): Those who use this forum to constantly jump on some casinos. Especially a few members and a casino mentioned in this post. Grow up.

And last but not least, Forum Police: The Austrian guy (Mike031, Audioz and all the other nicks he had). Oh those sorry bastards who dared to post a winning screenshot under 100xbet.

Palace group left in the dark here?

It surprises me that no one has nominated Spin Palace as this years top casino. Sure its a well established casino, been going for many years, its not new and doesnt particularly offer anything exciting and amazing in its software above and beyond any of the other mg casinos, however, to me anyway, their customer service has always been spot on, they pay well and on time and their generosity is UNMATCHED.
Out of all the casinos im a member of, Spin palace is the ONLY one to regularly send me 100 % match bonuses, give great christmas, birthday and New year gifts ( for example ive been given a free 100 quid with no WR attached for new year) They have also just given me another free 100 quid (in my bonus account) simply for re sending in my verification documents because they were updating their records!! These are just 2 examples ive had of them over this past year. Can any of you say any of the other mg casinos match this level of generosity? really? and im not a particularly high roller either, im small time compared to some people.
I just find it strange that no one in this whole thread has even mentioned them :what: so im going to.
