Need your input: It's That Time of Year! Meister 2024 Awards: Crypto Casinos

I need some input here!
How? Is it a hidden math model Hacksaw provides?
I've seen sites do this years ago and the "boosted" part was via external rebates, however after checking the game itself on gamdom, it is a different version of the slot with the aforementioned RTP calculated over 10B rounds.

If it's the scratchcard approach to slot development it'll just be as easy as shipping it out with more winning game outcomes. If there is a different math model involved that would require more work.

I played there on Friday for the first time in ages and didn’t see these, dammit! Unless they were only added to the site yesterday?
yeasterday, they add also Volt where u keep the money and earn %, I thing next they going to add more pragmatic play on 98%

It doesn't appear to be a flat increase (e.g. RIP City is +1.21%, Wanted is +1.11%) so that probably rules out any cashback type deals... in which case that could suggest a new maths model. Quite a few providers offer 97% and 98% models now - just happens to be very few takers for them 🥶

Saying that, plenty of warning signs with gamdom - their extensive journey with monopoly money streamers being one, also plenty of allegations of confiscated funds and other shenanigans over the years. So one step forward, two steps back?

Oh wow had no idea BC.Game ceased operations (but only in the UK). The rumors were true in the end.
Not really "operations" - it was a shell white label to allow them to put their crypto branding (which happened to be the same logo as their UK site, despite the UK site having a different URL) on sports teams in the UK.

This is probably a case of jumping before being pushed - TGP (who operate the white label) have had a number of run-ins with the UKGC for their conduct, and this is a timely reminder that most of their business is the same... crypto or asian operators using a backdoor to push their (unlicensed) brands into the UK marketplace.

As an aside, it looks like the football league have already plotted how to get around their own "gambling ban" - as it's still only going to apply to "front of shirt" (headline) branding from 2026-27... so it can be seen on other parts of the kit (including the arms of the shirt), billboards and other promotional activity... which is a pity.

Interesting, I had read it as a total ban like what they did with China-based casinos apparently since I haven't seen them for a couple of seasons now or maybe more. Did they put any timeline for a complete ban or is there no mention of complete bans?

Here in Singapore, tobacco and gambling have been completely gone for maybe 20 years now. Alcohol still exists though. I think in England those were replaced by gambling.

I had to double-check when writing the previous post because I thought it was more of a ban than it actually was - no doubt some over-enthusiastic reporting at the time. The original plan only applied to front-of-shirt, so nothing has actually changed in that regard.

There are other restrictions outside of football, but no talk of a total ban - the gambling tax take is too high to allow the boat to sink entirely. As you say, gambling sponsorship is where tobacco sponsorship was 30-40 years ago - and as the intensity gets higher and higher (as we're seeing with "gamba brainrot" across social media platforms) then the calls to ban it will get louder and louder.

I do think the UKGC and/or government need to close this loophole though - if your logo for your UK-licensed shell casino doesn't actually reference your UK site, then it's pretty obvious what the intention is... even if the football clubs can turn a blind eye to it because their dealings are purely with the licensed operator.

From what I can read online, the planned amendments to these laws aren't only postponed, but will be watered down. We already know football clubs are financially mismanaged, for sure a lot of it on purpose.

As usual, old and slow approach a hundred steps behind. Google, Yahoo, Bing? Kids were savvier than that 15 years ago.

In the case of the football clubs, that was their own announcement (no doubt facing regulator pressure) and it hasn't been watered down - but also isn't particularly useful when it only applies to one of many advertising opportunities.

There's a rather notorious video clip of the UKGC representatives explaining about a gap in knowledge regarding crypto and unregulated gambling, and that they would need three years to get up to speed.

That's already a staggering statement to make, it's breath-taking incompetence when you realise it was

... more than five years into the current wave of crypto gambling!

I am just curious to see the forums real options for awards that matter more even though I have restricted my choices to those that in the long term may give me most of my money back in the long term.

It's in hand, coming soon.

I am still playing at Winz and Bitstarz since years. Unfortunately both do not offer the highest rtp on most games, but so far, they are well versed operators, never had any issues, cashouts are quick, support is doing a good job.
