Anyone planning on visiting ICE this month? Posting here specifically (as opposed to the industry discussion forum) as I'm more interested in anyone who fancies a pint as opposed to the boring business stuff :p

My agenda is:

A) Find the Neteller rep
B) Kidnap aforementioned rep
C) Hold hostage until they sort their lives out

Or, if I can't be bothered with that plan - I'll maybe just go along and enjoy a few pints with anyone that fancies it!

So, anyone going?

I was checking this out the other day.

Can anyone just go - or do you have to be industry based?

It would be great to meet up with everyone!!!! :D

Anyone can go - free registration and loads of slots to play (in fun mode!!)

There's three expo's in one - ICE, ATEi and ICEi :D

Good! Mine's a pint. Actually, seeing as it's you, make it a Krug Rose - a bottle

I'll spot you a mineral water if you're good :)

I'd love to go, just this little thing called the Atlantic Ocean in my way, lol. Maybe Cheeky can cash in his frequent flyer miles and book me on a cargo flight or something? :D

Have a blast guys.....sounds like fun!!

Simmo I will be looking for the purple dude! I like free slots plan on trying out a few myself and of course I will be chatting to a few software reps and asking them why they allow rogue behavior from their casino operators:what:

What would this exhibition be about? I mean for an individual who has no business exposure what its meaning? I've never been there so am considering it for this time.

Move the show t'up North for heavens sake.
I am sure the roads are wide enough fer 'orse n carts.
We can recognise each other by not wearing cloth caps.

A lot of public go along to see the latest slots and video games on offer. All the big manufacturers parade their arcade machines for gambling and gaming purposes. Video games, fruities, Vegas slots, SWAG, table football, kiddie machines etc etc. It's pretty big and it's free but pre-reg as it can get very busy. The "online gambling" section is in the ICE hall and is usually just a small section of it :)

Desperate Times.

Must be pretty desperate times for the industry if they are letting anyone in.
It was not always like that, one had to register as a representative of a company (OK, it was open to "creative registration") and at least look like you might be after new machines for your arcade/pub chain etc.

I had a look last year, and I got the idea that registration for one show no longer automatically qualified for the others. It used to be 2 shows, one for Fairground rides and games, and another for Fruit Machines, Video Games, and Pinball Games, as well as "sundries" such as cranes and penny pushers.

Hey, I'd gladly take pinababy with me given she's only ninety miles away!:D

Seriously, I'd love to meet some folks at ICE....

I plan on personally greeting Realtime Gaming,,,,,along with some "special friends" !!!!!

It's red carpet time for RTG baby!!!!

Your private jet DC?? Count me in....chilled Cristal please!!! :D

And yes, I'll be there.

I've been covering the ICE since 2001 mainly to report on the online gaming sector and to meet up with operators and software providers.

The reports are all archived in the Newsletter section:

Looks like with all you guys around, I can just chill out on the sidelines and let you do my work for me :D

Anyone interested, email me - webmaster at oggs.com - I'm trying to sort something out :)
Have you got a date/time/place sorted yet?

I've booked Wednesday 24th off work, so I'm hoping that's the day!

Cheeky

Fine with me.

I will bring a bag of 1 coins for the fruity in the pub.

If VWM comes, he can show us how to empty it.

Doubt it, most fruitys are "chipped" by the time they make it to the pub. Most "empties" are bogus, the real info is sold by industry insiders for large sums.
Empties are best done where the staff don't really care what the customer does in "not their area", provided it is not obviously criminal, such as depositing a crowbar instead of a coin! (This does NOT apply in a pub).

Service stations and rail stations are favoured. I saw several persons blatantly robbing machines on the Motorway, and despite there being CCTV, noone ever came in to check more closely. One pair scammed two of the notechangers, and it was plain to ME what they were up to, as the average Maygay does NOT EVER pay 3 70+ "streaks" within 5 minutes, while at the same time switching itself off, then on, a similar number of times. (An empty method referred to as "plugging" in the underground trade), likely to get you arrested, but rarely sticks provided no physical damage is evident to the machine casing. - I don't use this method - too dodgy, and will get you thrown out of a pub instantly as pub landlords DO care when their fruitys get the empty treatment.

I am only some 40 miles from the venue, but I have a dislike for the Public Transport from here to London. In particular, I have to be "Cinderella" and leave before the clock strikes 11 in order to get home:mad:
If I drive in, I'll have to leave the beer alone.

I can get you a 2* hotel for 42.25 incl. tax and breakfast or a 3* for 47.50 incl. tax and breakfast, both located in the Earls Court area. However, rooms are very limited.

If you are interested, PM me.

OK

OK, my curiosity is beginning to get the better of me. 40/50 does not seem so bad for London. I was thinking it would be nearer 200 per night at Earls court during such an event.
If a pub is decided upon, and the name & address/postcode posted I will look at coming along to meet up just for the day even if I don't bother with the show.
I had a look at the registration page, and it still only allows for company reps to register as company name and position are compulsory. Whether they actually check these out is a matter for them, they used to somewhat, but if there is no pressure on attendance I expect checking will be less enthusiastic.

Although I have never been, I DO have a valid company "code" that should get me in to ATEI (Pinball machines), but may not necessarily count for ICE now that they have become separate shows. UK Fruit Machine makers tend to worry a little about "players" getting in and hearing something intended for distributers - many players DO get through the checks though, I referred to "creative registration" before. Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk, and how are they to know you don't REALLY run a small arcade in Scunthorpe:D

I registered as travel agency so no worries there.

If you want to book the accommodation (without PM'ing me) go to

click on HOTELS, then choose London, United Kingdom, check-in date 24 January 2007, 1 night, Single room - then, bottom right hand side of the page it says click here for more locations/districts, find Earls Court then you will see a 2* and 3* hotel with AVAILABLE highlighted in red next to their descriptions. You can book from there if you wish.

:D

I'm not sure if I'll make the actual show (despite registering and receiving my badge!) - so it's just the booze for me too. It looks like I'll arrive in the city about three ish on the Wednesday, then I'm at a seminar all day Thursday on the other side of town...

Now you tell us  Half the bloody casino world are coming to London that week :D

Don't worry. Simmo can be the designated driver. I seriously doubt they serve muppets there

Look at my face! Would you want to be in a car with me driving? No. I thought not. Mine's a Bud :)

Regards registration, you only have to put your website in the Company Name box that's all :)
